Dea: DAY/uh - "goddess"
Arcana Dea is Latin for "Goddess of Hidden Mysteries" and my designs are accordingly inspired by the ever-changing, unpredictable natural world and by the "hidden mysteries" of spiritual belief systems from around the world. Though not a practitioner of most of these systems, I am fascinated by the mystical, metaphysical and spiritual practices of different cultures and find the study of them gives me great ideas for beautiful jewelry designs. There is beauty all around us, if we only take the time to truly look and see it...
I work primarily in sterling silver and Argentium silver (I love Argentium, it's a fabulous, relatively new sterling alloy that doesn't tarnish the way the old sterling silver did -- for more information on Argentium, please see the FAQ section!), accented with beautiful gemstone beads and genuine Swarovski crystal. You'll also find a few gold-filled pieces in my collections, as well. Information about "gold-filled" is also available in my FAQ section.
